For Fun

Because it's been a while since I posted anything, and I think it's fun to see what kinds of thoughts these questions provoke.

1. When do you feel happiest?
  • I don't know about happiest, but I'm definitely happy when I accomplish a goal, when I see Finn developing a new skill, or when I get to spend relaxing time with my guys!

2. How do you take care of yourself?
  • I definitely take me-time.  For instance, I let (though he might debate me on whether I let him or insist) Corey get up with Finn on Saturday mornings so that I can get a little extra sleep.  Also, I finally got my hair cut :-)

3. Are you internally (by yourself) or externally (by others) motivated?
  • I'd be lying if I said that I'm never motivated by the people around me or various rewards and whatnot, but I also believe that external motivations ultimately fail to produce real results.  Anything that is worth doing, that means something to me, will be done because I want/need to do it for myself.

4. What do you do for fun?
  • I quilt, play with Finn, read, knit, bake (occasionally!), play cards, take pictures, spend time just hanging out with the family, watch Corey do the dishes...

5. What intimidates you?
  • Having conversations with people I don't know.  I worry that I won't have anything to say, and that makes me nervous.  When the nerves take over, I can't think of anything to say!  It's an extremely vicious cycle.

6. What is something you're proud of?
  • Having a home birth.  Which totally reminds me, I should write about that sometime...

7. Finish this sentence. I never _____________.
  • wash the dishes!

8. Favorite vacation spot.
  • Oh, man.  This is probably the most difficult question!  Honestly, if a place has water (you know, a lake, the ocean...), I'll probably fall in love with it!

9. Today is a (rate from 1 - 10).
  • I would say 10, but it's Sunday, and that means tomorrow is Monday, so I'll say 9 :-)

10. Finish this sentence. If you knew me really well you'd know _____________.
  • that I often associate names (and sometimes other words) with foods.  For instance, the name Jill makes me think of jellybeans.
