I've written before about how I dislike the idea of making resolutions. So much pressure. The thing is, though, that the beginning of the year is when so many of us are thinking about the opportunity for change, how things can be new or different, myself included. It really is a great time to consider the things we'd like to see happen in our lives. This year, I'm not thinking as much about personal change or growth--I'm awfully content with my life, and I really feel like I've made a lot of progress on those personal goals over the last few years. No, this year I'm focusing more on the things I'd like to do, the more tangible, quantifiable goals.
Also, after I saw Janalee's Annual Resolution Review post, I felt compelled to put together a list of my own. It's here, in black and white, for me to reflect upon throughout the year.
Here they are, my Top 10 Non-Resolutions for 2012.
1. Sew curtains for the living room and upstairs bathroom. Bonus if I also get around to sewing curtains for our 3 bedrooms.
2. Start walking at least 5 days a week, at least 1.5 miles each time.
3. Stop buying pre-packaged sandwich bread and make my own.
4. Make myself a quilt design wall
5. Make a twin-sized quilt for baby #2
6. Start saving for our 10 year anniversary trip to the Cinque Terre and Florence.
7. Pay off at least half of what is left on my student loan (not so bad, considering I only started paying on it 3 years ago, and I'm already over half way paid off!!)
8. Build three more garden beds, plant lots of veggies and hope they grow!
9. Actually give Corey a present for our anniversary this year (um, that's 5 days from now, so I'd better get on it!)
10. Put together a cookbook of our family's favorite recipes. Have it finished as a birthday present to myself? That'll be a bonus.

I love the idea of just a list of things to do instead of "goals". Good luck with your list this year! :) Oh & baby #2! Wow! Exciting :)
